BUYER DIRECT MATERIALS (M/V/X) 

We are seeking a buyer to join our Procurement team. As a Buyer Direct Materials, you manage the inventories of raw materials and packaging by timely ordering these for the supply to the Lawter Kallo production facility to secure an undisrupted availability for the production of finished goods, taking into account the working capital and cash target and procure the assigned product and or services at the most optimal conditions for Lawter.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • You buy raw materials, packaging and other assigned products and/or services.
  • You initiate and set up (annually) contracts for assigned products.
  • You update pricelists. Both for internal use as well as in SAP.
  • You support the logistics department by creating purchase orders for logistic services.
  • You maintain the purchasing administration (blocked & parked invoices) for indirect goods and services.
  • you are a back-up for ordering indirect materials and services in absence of the Buyer - Indirect goods.
  • You evaluate the suppliers of raw materials and packaging in cooperation with the procurement manager, production department and supply chain.
  • You visit trade fairs, seminars and suppliers, domestic as well as international to obtain and expand the market knowledge as well as supplier environment.
  • You negotiate with external suppliers on the purchase or contracting of the assigned raw materials and packaging.
  • You report achieved savings/reduction to the procurement manager.
  • You support the sustainability department by obtaining the sustainability status of the raw materials used such as, but not limited to SDS, LRCQ, REACH (EU,UK,TR).
  • You have regular meetings with the R&D department with respect to the search, introduction and/or approval of new raw materials and or new suppliers of existing raw materials and weekly team meetings.

 

Skills/abilities: 

  • You have knowledge of the Dutch and English language (both verbally and in writing). French and German are a plus.
  • You are PC proficient and know how to use standard office applications. (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
